The OAC’s Commitment to Respect

The Your Weight Matters National Convention is built on creating a welcoming environment where individuals, no matter where they are on their journey toward improved health, can come to learn, connect and feel supported.

The Obesity Action Coalition (OAC) is committed to ensuring the Convention reflects the core principles of our organization — a place free from judgment, ridicule and weight bias and a community that values respect for every person, regardless of their size, treatment choices or personal journey.

To help reinforce these values, the OAC established a Respect Pledge that reflects the culture we strive to create at every event. Everyone who attends the Convention is asked to commit to helping maintain an environment where respect, kindness and support for one another are at the center of the experience.
