Hello there! My name is Cassie and I’ve been a registered dietitian specializing in weight loss and bariatric surgery for the past 17 years. I spent the first decade of my career at a medical weight loss clinic helping guide people in their own personal weight loss journey. Whether they had a bariatric procedure, used medications, or saw our medical doctor for monthly visits, I was there to help guide them in their daily food and wellness choices. In 2014, I started my own private practice and food blog to help inspire healthy cooking for my clients, and to spark creativity in the kitchen. For the past 5 years, I have also worked in clinical education at Bariatric Advantage where I help other clinicians stay up-to-date with the latest scientific discoveries.
This year, I have the pleasure of speaking alongside a fellow bariatric specialist dietitian, Laura Andromalos, MS, RD, CSOWM, CDE in our breakout session on July 17th “Diet is a Noun, Not a Verb – Eating for Your Health.” We are going to explore the various ways that a person can experience “healthy” eating.
We will not focus on food intake and how what we eat can influence the scale; we will instead discuss ways that certain foods affect our health and wellbeing.
In the past year and a half, many people have looked at how foods, beverages, and supplements may help support their immune system. We will explore the impact of our common food choices on our health status, and give practical tips on ways to improve your overall “diet quality.”
Join us at virtual YWM2021 for some top-notch nutrition education, and quite a bit of fun. One thing I can promise is that Laura and I truly enjoy nutrition education and look forward to “seeing” you soon!
